An Automated Market Maker (AMM) is a type of decentralized exchange (DEX) or liquidity protocol used in decentralized finance (DeFi) that facilitates the trading of cryptocurrencies without the need for traditional order books or centralized intermediaries. Instead of relying on order books and matching buyers with sellers, AMMs use algorithmically determined prices and liquidity pools to facilitate trades directly between users.

An Application Programming Interface (API) is a set of rules, protocols, and tools that allows different software applications to communicate and interact with each other. An API serves as an intermediary that enables different software systems to talk to each other, allowing them to share data and functionality without requiring the developers to understand the inner workings of each system.

Annual Percentage Yield (APY) is a standardized way of expressing the interest earned on a financial product over the course of a year, taking into account the effect of compounding interest.

ASR stands for Active Staking Rewards. In reference to the JUP DAO, ASR implies: Active - You must be Active during the governance voting period. Staking - You must have your $JUP staked and vote with it. Rewards - In order to encourage active participation, DAO voters will receive rewards at the end of each quarter. Those rewards will consist of $JUP and other tokens accumulated by the DAO treasury from LFG Launchpad fees.

An Associated Token account (ATA) is a specific type of account that holds tokens associated within a particular wallet address. An ATA is required for every token issued on the Solana blockchain and each wallet address can hold multiple token accounts.

All Time High (ATH) refers to the highest price level that a particular cryptocurrency or asset has reached in its entire trading history.

All Time Low (ATL) refers to the lowest price level that a particular cryptocurrency or asset has reached in its entire trading history.

Is a transparency initiative set out by Meow and the Jupiter Team. It cites that the best way to build trust within the community comes from 3 key aspects: Certainty for token holders, Alignment between key stakeholders, Transparency on token distribution. C.A.T.

CAWG is an abbreviation for the Catdet Working Group. They are responsible for creating ways to get the community involved in providing ideas and feedback to help grow the Catdet Corps and the JUP community.

Community Eats First (CEF) is Jupiter's commitment to stand behind our plans and make sure the community eats first. This refers to rewarding community members and by getting $JUP into their hands. Long term community members are those that align with the larger Jupiter META initiative. (J.U.P., G.U.M., etc.). CEF can also refer to the Community Emissions Framework, designed to prevent JUP token supply shocks by responsibly managing team held tokens.

CEX is an acronym for Centralized Exchange. It's a type of cryptocurrency exchange where users can buy, sell, and trade various cryptocurrencies. In a centralized exchange, transactions are facilitated and managed by a central authority, typically a company or organization, which maintains control over the platform's operations, order matching, and user funds. Examples of centralized exchanges include Coinbase, Binance, and Kraken.

A Concentrated Liquidity Market Maker (CLMM) is a type of liquidity provider in decentralized finance (DeFi) protocols that focuses on providing liquidity for specific trading pairs with high trading volume or demand. Unlike traditional market makers that may spread their liquidity across various assets or markets, a CLMM concentrates its liquidity provision efforts on a select few trading pairs.

A Central Limit Order Book (CLOB) refers to a centralized electronic system or platform used by financial exchanges to match buy and sell orders for assets.

Community Take Over (CTO) refers to a token project whose owners developers have exited or left the project and the community bands together to revive the project and take the over control and development.

CWG is an abbreviation for the Core Working Group. They are responsible for designing and implementing systems and processes to guide the JUP DAO forward in its day-to-day operations.

DAO is an acronym for Decentralized Autonomous Organization. It is a decentralized, self-governing entity whose members share a common goal to act in the best interest of the entity (the DAO).

Dollar Cost Averaging (DCA) is an investment strategy where an investor regularly purchases a fixed dollar amount of a particular investment, regardless of the asset's price. Instead of trying to time the market by making large lump-sum investments all at once, DCA involves spreading out the investment over time, often in smaller increments.

DEX is an acronym for Decentralized Exchange. It's a type of cryptocurrency exchange that operates in a decentralized manner, meaning it doesn't rely on a central authority to facilitate transactions. Instead, trades occur directly between users, peer-to-peer, through the use of smart contracts or other decentralized protocols.

A Dynamic Liquidity Market Maker (DLMM) gives liquidity providers access to dynamic fees and precise liquidity concentration all in real-time. Liquidity of an asset pair is organized into discrete price bins. Reserves deposited in a liquidity bin are made available for exchange at the price defined for that particular bin. Swaps that happen within the price bin itself would not suffer from slippage. The market for the asset pair is established by aggregating all the discrete liquidity bins.

When someone tells you to Do Your Own Research (DYOR), they are encouraging you to conduct thorough research and due diligence before making any decisions or investments. This is an incredibly important concept for crypto as bad actors will try to sell false narratives.

DeFi stands for Decentralized Finance. It refers to a category of financial services and applications built on blockchain technology that operate in a decentralized manner without the need for traditional intermediaries like banks or brokerage firms.

Fully Diluted Value (FDV) refers to the total market capitalization of a project’s outstanding tokens, including all potential tokens that could be issued in the future through the minting of additional tokens. In simpler terms, fully diluted value accounts for all potential future dilution of existing ownership stake.

FOMO is the fear of missing out. Generally this happens during a bull market where people make decisions based on high potential vs. a reasoned opinion.

FUD means Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt. Crypto has a large range of emotions that includes panic. When token holders panic and sentiment wavers, the negativity spreads on a community level. This spread is usually termed as FUD. It can have a small impact on the project or it could completely destroy the project.

GDSE stands for Global Decentralized Stock Exchange. The aim is to greatly expand the scope and usefulness of crypto by financing off-chain production industries and bringing them on-chain. It is step 3 of the Decentralized Meta.

Generally, in crypto circles GM is shorthand for Good Morning. However, in the Jupiverse GM stands for Great Migration which refers to the migration of the masses to start using decentralized technologies. It is step 1 of the Decentralized Meta.

GUM is an acronym for Giant Unified Market. It refers to having access to every asset in the world in one place that is highly accessible for everyone. It is step 2 of the Decentralized Meta.

HODL is a term used in the cryptocurrency community that originated from a misspelling of "hold." It essentially means holding onto your cryptocurrency investments rather than selling them, even when the market is experiencing volatility or downturns. It is also an acronym for Hold On for Dear Life.

J.U.P stands for the Jupiter United Planet. This is the name of the DAO community run system of governance to develop the Jupiter Ecosystem. The JUP DAO decides all matters around the LFG Launchpad and Work Group led development initiatives. The DAO conducts votes for decentralized decision making utilizing the $JUP governance token.

J4J means JUP for JUP. This is meant to express the intention to get $JUP tokens into the hands of the people who participate in the J.U.P ecosystem either through Jupiter the protocol or the JUP DAO.

JLP is the Jupiter Liquidity Provider program. JLP allows a liquidity provider to add liquidity to a pool used by perpetual traders. The perpetual traders get liquidity and the provider gets rewarded with some of the fees emitted from the trader. The expected returns are listed on the JLP page as an APY.

JRWG is an abbreviation for the Jupiter Reddit Working Group. They are responsible for creating and maintaining the official r/jupiterexchange subreddit.

JWG stands for Jupiter Working Group. It refers to an ​​independent group of operators who will focus on growing the Jupiter community, enhancing the Solana ecosystem, and facilitating DAO coordination. Examples: Core Working Group, Web Working Group, and Catdet Working Group.

Centralized exchanges sometimes use KYC or Know Your Customer. This means you need to upload an official document proving your identity. This is to establish a legal relationship between yourself and your crypto assets.

LST stands for Liquid Staking Token. Staking typically involves locking up tokens to support the operations of a Proof of Stake (PoS) network, helping to secure the network and earn rewards in return. An LST is a tokenized representation of the staked asset which can be traded or used in DeFi apps while still earning staking rewards. JupSOL is an example of an LST.

MAF is an acronym for Meta Acceleration Fund. It refers to the capital provided by the Jupiter protocol to fund the Decentralized Meta initiatives.

A Non-Fungible Token is a unique token that represents an asset, real or digital. It could represent art, proof of active participation at an event, an item in a game, or a real world asset.

POAP stands for Proof of Active Participation. At the end of the Planetary Calls, POAP NFTs are distributed to all call attendees who prove their attendance and humanity by completing a form. These are essentially street cred, as they have no explicit usage at this time.

Proof of Stake (POS) is a consensus mechanism used in blockchain networks to achieve agreement on the state of the network and validate transactions.

Proof of Work (PoW) is a consensus mechanism used in blockchain networks whereby miners compete to solve complex mathematical puzzles to validate and confirm transactions to create new blocks.

Peer Pump Peer, as opposed to PVP (Player Versus Player), refers to the J4J mentality of helping fellow Catdets and community members succeed in their personal, professional, and all other aspects of life.

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) is a protocol that allows a computer program to execute procedures or functions on a remote server as if they were local to the client machine. In crypto, an RPC provider is responsible for routing transactions to validators to be processed and included in a block.

RWA stands for Real World Assets. These would be tangible, physical property such as stocks, bonds, gold, a car, a house, etc. represented in a tokenized form on a blockchain.

A Software Development Kit (SDK) is a set of tools, libraries, documentation, and sample code that developers use to create software applications for specific platforms, frameworks, or programming languages. SDKs provide a standardized way for developers to access and interact with the features and capabilities of a particular software platform or service.

The Solana Program Library (SPL) is a standardized set of libraries and tools to simplify the development process for building on the Solana blockchain.

A Token Generating Event (TGE) is an event in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space where tokens are created and distributed. This term is often used interchangeably with Initial Coin Offering (ICO) or Token Sale.

Transactions Per Second (TPS) is a measure of the number of transactions processed or completed by a system, network, or platform.

TVL stands for Total Value Locked. It refers to the total amount of assets, typically cryptocurrency tokens, that are deposited or locked into a DeFi protocol.

TWA stands for Trust With Accountability. The JUP DAO employs a trust with accountability mindset when bringing new trial work groups to life. This ensures the JUP DAO avoids being too critical of an idea before they have a chance to prove themselves and their value.

User Generated Money (UGM) refers to the ease of token creation in the Solana space. Its never been easier to launch tokens and form communities around any topic. Memes are money.

WWG is an abbreviation for the Web Working Group. The WWG is responsible for revitalizing, restructuring, and maintaining the documentation on the Jupiter Space Station website. They are also responsible for defining community involvement for both Jup.eco and Jupiter Space Station.
